Super easy, fast, tasty main dish for a busy week night

Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 lbs. tilapia filets

  • 1 Tbs. butter

  • 1 tsp. chili powder

  • 1 tsp. kosher salt

  • 1/2 tsp. garlic powder

  • 1/2 tsp. cumin

  • 1/4 tsp. freshly ground black pepper

Directions

  • Pat tilapia fillets dry. Heat butter in large non-stick skillet on medium high heat
  • Mix the spices together and dust the fillets with the mixture
  • Place the fillets in the skillet and cook for about three minutes
  • Flip the fillets carefully with a spatula and cook the other side for 2-3 minutes until the flesh is no longer translucent and is white. Serve immediately

Notes

  • I usually season with the spices one at a time rather than mixing the spices together. While they are on the paper towel, I season one side, place that side facing down in the skillet and then season the other side
