A moist and delicious banana bread. Serve with pimento cheese or softened butter

Ingredients

  • 2 TBS butter, softened

  • 1 cup sugar

  • 2 eggs, beaten

  • 3 bananas, well ripened

  • 2 cups flour

  • 1 tsp soda

  • 1/2 tsp baking powder

  • 1/2 tsp table salt

  • 2 TBS buttermilk

  • 1/2 cup chopped pecans

Directions

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees
  • Cream together butter and sugar; mix in eggs and bananas
  • Sift together dry ingredients, and stir into banana mixture
  • Stir in buttermilk and pecans
  • Pour into greased and floured loaf pan, and bake for 35-40 minutes

Notes

  • 1 tsp of vinegar in 2 Tbs of milk will substitute for butter milk. The recipe doubled will make 3 small loaves
